Just wanted to share what I have had done. After my moment of insanity buying an RR classic unseen on eBay I took it to Insideout 4x4 in Surrey who kept the car for two weeks to give it:
1) full service, all oils, plugs, leads etc
2) upgraded groved and drilled discs and upgraded pads.
3) new shocks and stiffer springs.
4) a bit of rust treatment and a small bit of welding in boot
5) four new bf goodrich all terrains.
6) new improved front lights
7) replaced rear tailgate lifting dampers
8) new exhaust down pipes
They thought the car was a good one and had very little rust, at some time someone had replaced the sills and gone crazy with the wax oil.
I wanted a FULL service as now I know where am with the car.
New shocks and dampers because the old ones are 20 yrs old and I will do a bit of towing and also did not want to roll too much, massive improvement in driving, much better.
I have upgraded the brakes due to towing but also I want to stop, quickly. Now the brakes are very very strong.
Upgraded lights , well we all like to see in the dark. Have not tried them yet.
The bf Goodrich tyres I have never used before and on the road I am very impressed, no extra road noise and off road I hope the will do the business. They are look like they will.
Ok, so all in the car now owes me about £4500. But I have a classic that is fully sorted and ready to do what I want. it has only done 80k.
I will keep you all posted!
