Hi!
Tried to go for a ride yesterday, but there is absolutly no power - no display function and even the blinking light (alarm?) is out...
Checked the main fuse under the airbox and the other one at the passenger boot - both look good

will check the fuse in "battery box" and the voltage directly on the battery the next days - my optimate 4 will not kick in when connecting to the cigarette-plug...

any other ideas for that break down?

Fuse in the battery box is for the electric PS pump. Fuse in the footwell is the supply to the fuse board, under the air box is for the alternator. I would replace the fuses in the footwell and under the air box, as they can appear to be OK but have fractured inside. It could be that the battery has died (have you tried a volt meter on the battery?) which is why it won't charge but the supply to the battery (via the cig lighter) is through the footwell 100A fuse don't forget.

Hi!
I've dismounted the one in the footwell - it's only a small metalsheet (80A), but i tried to bend it a little bit and it was ok! But will change both the netx days...

voltmeter check on battery will follow (I don't have one that time), but a flat battery would be very strange, as I did a 300km trip last weekend...
But, will a broken fuse cause a total break down?

I would say yes, if a fuse fails in the plug of a domestic device it is completely dead until replaced, same principal with the car but at a lower voltage. You could swap the fuse from under the air box if you have easy access and turn the ignition on to see if the car powers up? Any chance the main earth has come loose?

ok, will swap all fuses to have 100% confidence...

hmmm, I dont think that an earthcable has come loose, but will check that too (is it the one behind the battery - bolted to the frame?)
