Snapping driveshafts.....

Has anyone snapped a non-circlip driveshaft?

I've just taken mine off and found they don't have the inner circlips, they only have the outer ones that retain the CVs.

My driveshafts look like the upper ones in this picture.

Yes - I snapped an non-circlip drive shaft at the Back Home sprint on Blackpool seafront the year before last. Some kind soul sold me a spare driveshaft they happened to have and I changed it on the seafront and went on to win the class. It snapped right where the spline ends on the inside.

I snapped one at the Pod a few years back at one of the first big PH/Cerbie gatherings on the first launch, to much laughter and piss taking from my fellow CarNUTS
