OK, a serious answer.
Do a search through the Chim/Griff forums and you will find there is no official answer. Even the factory haven't answered it the same way twice!
Going on all the info gathered though it isn't high compression as HC and non HC compressions are the same.
So its likely that its a cam thing.
Although it could be "Hot Cabin" if it was all the non A/C cars that were HCs!

Concensus is Higher Lift Cam equates to "HC", not High Compression.

in my case i think that HC does mean Her Car as she doesn't really like me driving it because i drive out the petrol as i drive "too" fast.
I can't sit in the car with her anymore as she doesn't open it up. example.
Two tractors in front doing about 30 on a 60mph carriageway. Nothing coming the other way i tell her to overtake. "no i don't want to because i won't fit in the gap" (the gap between the tractor and the verge of the otherside of the road) oh ok i reply (even though you could get a tank though there) So we follow these 2 tractors for about a mile while cars like Vauxhall Astras pass by.
Oh not only that but she doesn't read the road too well.
I give it 3 months before the shocks are knackered as she drives over
ing huge potholes. I shout at her, then she comes back with a classic line.
"Its my car, i paid for it and i'm paying for the bills don't shout at me as its not yours"
fair enough, but i'm not helping out when that big bill comes in because the shocks, whisbone etc are shagged because you can't avoid potholes.
I mentioned that she should get a 4x4 instead....nearly lost my head.
and breath.....sorry i think that was building up and i needed to vent it. feel better now.

Excellent post!

What would the other commandments be?
- Though shalt floor it through tunnels.
- Though shalt spend more time driving it than cleaning it.
- Though shalt continue to mention the reliabilty and affordability issues of running a Rover V8 in a TVR to owners of newer models.
- Though shalt drive with the roof down, even when it rains.
- If the stereo is ever switched on though shalt not play Wham, the Village People, or other such music.
- Though shalt say "stepper motor" every time some one says its a bit lumpy.
- Though shalt go use up as much fuel and rubber before the world runs out of it
- Though shalt promote the TADTS system of engineering.
