Who makes the best model cars these days?
Discussion
I used to have a bunch of Bburago ones as a kid. Not the really small ones, but the big models. I don't remember the scale so can't be any more specific than that.
I'd love to build a collection of quality Ferrari models, but don't know who makes the best ones these days? Is it still Bburago?

I had a set of 1:32 Bburago cars but they all had the same wheels that clipped on instead of the wheels they would have had in real life. Is it a diecast collection you want to start?I'd love to build a collection of quality Ferrari models, but don't know who makes the best ones these days? Is it still Bburago?
You can get pretty much any Ferrari you want in 1:24 scale plastic kit form, if you're willing to put the effort in and build and paint them yourself.

I don't think Bburago were ever looked on as quality models.
Well I always liked them as a kid. Who would you recommend? There are lots of higher quality models out there and the prices range from sub £50 to £Thousands - so it depends on your budget I suppose.
I would Google various model supplers on the internet so you can get a good idea of the quality and range of what is out there - and also decide on what types of scales you would like to collect in.

I have only just started looking at model cars again after a few years away, but have only ever bought what I considered decent models in 1:18 e.g. Auto Art and then primarily Rally Cars (Richard Burns Impreza, McRae Focus, Makkinen EVO 6 etc) Last year whilst my Cayenne was in for a service I picked up a 1:18 Norev GT3RS in grey from the main dealer, and last month bought a Le mans BMW GT3 in 1:18 to go with my E30 M3 Ravaglia. Thinking that was me done for a while tonight whilst casually browsing this thread I foolishly looked at the link that you posted and have now ordered an Aqua Blue GT3RS Norev to go with my grey model and also a 1:18 Auto Art Cayenne to go with my real one. I fear that my casual browsing has already become an expensive addiction, and I place the blame firmly with you and post. They have 10% off plus cash back though quidco quite often.

I'll add Otto to that list; not the single 'best' models but they're very, very good and cost <£50 were most of the stuff above now floats around £100 for a 1:18.
Forgot about them. One of the best 1:18 makers out there at the moment.Bodies are sealed resin and the subject matters are great. Bargains for less than 40 euros each.
