I've got a selection of alloy wheels (14 or so) that I no longer need. They're left over from doner cars I bought for my race car but they're just taking up a load of space unnecessarily.

Anyone know where I can get rid of them for a few quid - none are in particularly good condition and all without tyres. I can't see anyone wanting to pay money to use them on a car - just didn't know if a scrappy would buy them at scrap value?

Any ideas/suggestions?

A scrap yard will take them at scrap value, I only got £30 or so for a set of 16" alloys though.

Where are you? Post pics please, or PM me. I'll have them for £50 cash and collect if they look like what I'm after (not for car use)

Unfortunately not I'm afraid.

I have 12 x 14" Mk1 MR2 pepper pot alloys (reasonably heavy).

8 x 14" Mk1 MX5 Daisy alloys.

(It seems I miscounted - just popped out to have a tot up).

Yes a scrapyard will take them, make sure to strip off anything non-alloy, eg balance weights and valves.

Last time I went I got 75p/kg (£5.70 for one 14" wheel)

I'll get some photos asap and e-mail them to you if that's ok?

What sort of thing are you looking for?

ASM are fairly large. Have a few places about. One I remember is in Aylesbury.

You might get more than scrap value for the MX-5 wheels so long as there not totally f**ked, stick em on the MX-5 forums. Would have been ideal in the Autumn for winter tyres.

True

They're all still round - the problem is that daisys are ten a penny...

I weighed in some mk1 Mr2 rims last year. Tyres off I got £32 for four, so you have the best part of 100 quid on the MR2 wheels alone. I thought about selling them on but standard MR2 wheels aren't in much demand at the minute.

Do you know the width of the MR2 rims and are they bigger at the rear? I need some 4x114 wheels for the Bluebird......

Pic, text, stick em on ebay with zero start and no reserve and surprise yourself.

They'll all be gone in a week, you won't have to drive to the scrappy and you will have some beer tokens.

This, I was after some 14" daisys for winter tyres a while back.

Given some work the Daisys scrub up bloody nicely.
