Just make sure the zinc content of the oil additive pack is high.

I want to do an oil change before mapping (thurs) and ring/spa but it's too short notice to get the good stuff as I'm leaving aberdeen on Wednesday night, what's the best readily available oil? I've previously used Mobil 1 10w40.

Cheers

I have tried a few different ones, cant say whether they are good or not as i have not tested for engine wear,, but i generally here the valvoline racing fully syn 5w-50 is good, thats what i have in at the moment...alot of people tend to recommend a thicker oil for turbo cars due to the high heat of the turbos thinning the oil when running... i used a 10-60 last summer and the car is still here but who really knows whether its doing a better job than say the lower viscosity oils?

I didn't know they did that grade? All I've seen is 0W40 which is too thin, or 15W50 I think is the other?

Err can't remember exactly so you might be right, but last change was just whatever Jetstream used at the last service.

I have been using Castrol Edge 10w-60 it's expensive but very good especially in hot weather, personally I would use the helix 5w-40 in the winter with lower temps.
