Tamora Nose Skid Plate

I'm just refurbing the nose on my Tamora, it has the usual scuffs and scratches, and she will need a bit of filler to make her look good again (Plastic Surgery!). I know Str8six have made one for the Sag, but wondered if any one has come up with something for a Tamora. Perhaps LeeT350c could come up with a solution if enough Tam owners were interested?

I would like one for my T350. Lee and I had a brief email chat a while ago. He said he'd look into it but I'd perhaps a bit busy with all the washer bottles and other shiney goodies.

I should think the metal work for the 350 and the Tamora would be different to each other, but how about it Lee? I'd certainly be interested in one for the Tam.

I'm in the process of making one for the Tam out of 1mm ally

If it was me I would use 1/8" or approx 3mm plate......

Time is against me but will look at these at some point. Also looked at doing them in a kevlar/carbon composite.

Hi Lee,

For me thats too thick and heavy. When I was running the V8 4.6i V8 Westfield with underslung exhaust system the elbows were for ever scraping on road bumps etc so I made some skid plates out of 1 mm Ally and they've lasted 6 years so far without wearing thro' and they had some real hammer.

Just a thought anyway

No probs, its always hard to judge what will work best in a new application. I have a couple of deep scrapes hence the thought of a thicker plate but its also down to selecting the right aluminium for the application. Always good to share knowledge and thoughts.
