I was excited about getting this in the post this morning. The colour is pretty close to my DB9, it's just a bit lumpier smile

I'm not entirely sure, just a standard matchbox car like when I were a lad. It was only a fiver, Nice to have on my desk to remind me why I have to sit in the office sometimes!

I hope to pick up some 1:18 at le Mans this year.

Would like a Bentley EXP Speed 8, the Lola Aston LMP1, a DBR9 and maybe a DBR1/2. Think I should have bought at the time though, some are hard to find...

I want a 1:18 V8 Vantage in silver but although I can find loads of places that 'sell' them, none of them have any in stock and can't say when new stock will be available. I've found a few on eBay but I can never win the auction. Oh well, I'll have to sell the Vantage and get a DB9 instead; plenty of models of those about. wink

Which proves the point that boys never grow up.

Their toys just get bigger and better but break easily.

You need to go to this shop that was a 200 yard walk from my dad's apartment in KL. They sold the most fantastic models of cars in 1:8 format, starting at about £2.5k. They didn't have any Astons as I asked, but they had 250 GTOs, Porsche 918s, McLaren F1 GTRs, etc etc. I suspect if enough people wanted an Aston model they would make one though. It was without doubt the ultimate big boys toys store smile

Was called 'Schmidt', but I can't seem to find their website frown

Naughty but nice.

This thread will be like 'farleys rusks from heaven' to Georgeous. I can hear him now broom-brooming away smile

I didn't know you could still get Matchbox cars.

But a fiver!? I think they used to be 99p down the local papershop when I was younger. The shop had a little display thing with all the cars and trucks hanging off it and once a month my mum would let me pick one on the way home from school.

I think I need a matchbox Aston now though...

smile

I've always managed to get pretty much whatever I wanted direct from the UK distribution hub of Modelzone.
Free postage if it's over a tenner, probably costs that to drive to a shop only to find out they don't have it in stock!

You'm mere youngsters, when I were but a lad a matchbox car cost 2 bob (10p). If you were really rich and lived in a house Dinky or Corgi cars would cost 5 bob (25p)frown

Haha, I wouldn't be surprised!

I've been trying to get my hands on a 1:18 model of the V12V for a long time. It has been "coming soon" for at least a year now!

Might see if BR can get an electric toothbrush motor into it wink

Haven't opened it yet, might buy another - one to make brum-brum noises with on my desk, one to keep boxed!

For some time I have been trying to buy a used 1:18 scale V8 Vantage for my son on ebay. Winning bids are reaching ridiculous levels!

I have two V8V 1:18 models. One is an Auto Art (silver) and the other is a Matchbox (yellow). I don't need the yellow one anymore. Not sure if anyone would be interested in it, but I'd be willing to part with it for what I paid (around $35 I think). However, not sure what shipping fees would be to the UK and the car is left-hand drive.
