Ok so this is a fairly small chance of happening but a touch annoying when it does.

This was a valid link when posted...
t2gpmI/AAAAAAAAElI/7nNfyUk3FXA/s800/DSC04101.JPG' target='_blank'/>

Here with an added space and highlighted to show the issue..

Arguably urls in img tags should not be modified/censored.

As we can't refer to the exact post, we mods normally only ever embed risqué (NFSW) images.

However anyone quoting a post can do what they like with a link link within that quote really, they cannot alter the original post only mods can do that.

You are misunderstanding the issue.

Problem is not mods censoring it's the auto censor for rude words, if a rude word is contained (accidently, eg shorpe.jpg ) within a url that url is being modified to add the censored gif in the middle of the url and so breaking the url and hence the picture.

There is no NSFW content unless you have a thing for view source and finding rude words within other words.

Ah I understand now, in which case you'll need the assistance of our techie gurus.

But I'm not sure if that particular problem can be fixed.

Hang on in there someone from the office will be along to give you an answer.

Simply replace one of the offending letters with the ASCII code...

ie - Shorpe would be written Sc&#117 ;nthorpe (with the space before the ; removed).

ETA - ASCII table...

Lets test it then:

Unmodified (no [ IMG ] tags)
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-WmejpanJxGc/Tzs...

Unmodified with tags
t2gpmI/AAAAAAAAElI/7nNfyUk3FXA/s800/DSC04101.JPG' target='_blank'/>

Modified (no [ IMG ] tags)
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-WmejpanJxGc/Tzs...

And modified with tags

So yes, as a work around, it works. Massive pain in the bum though, I still think that image urls in [ img ] tags should not be tampered with by the auto-censor.
