I had to take the dog down to the river tonight for a swim rather than his usual run about, 'cos he got a bit hot last night... in March!
I've heard Weim's don't like the water but I can't keep mine out of it. At one point, instead of taking the foot bridge, he swam the river... then went back over the bridge just to do it again. He was dry before we got home as well.

I'm getting worried. My Cairn has still got his winter coat. Great to bed down at night in our place in march, where the temperatures can dip a bit at night . But at 16-19, it's getting to the state where he's looking for water after a walk, and we're restricting his mid day exercise . He's also almost 11. So do I get it clipped early ,and chance that the weather will not change, or leave it for another month ,in case we get a week or four of cold weather and that means getting him a coat, something he'll not appreciate .

Hence my reluctance to get him cut. Otherwise we'd end up with a doggy foot warmer. All 11kg of him. And he don't like moving even if he is on our legs .

Weather is meant to get colder and wet over the next week, even snow in some higher areas.
