I posted a thread in the Northern Ireland section promoting a charity event we are running and I noticed it has dissapeared but I also posted it in the Ireland section and it's still there. Apologies if I broke the rules but I'm just trying to promote an event and raise as much money for a good cause as possible.

Rule 16 of the posting rules.
I think it's more a case of if you do it so can everyone else can and i don't think that's the kind of thing PH is after.
Nearly everyone is involved or supports a charity at some point and then there would be thread after thread of help me help me help me.

This. If it helps I've now got rid of the Ireland thread too.

What's the deal with that one then?

Charitable PHers aren't allowed but begging is OK? I've wondered about the Cravendale thread for a while, what separates it from a charity event?

Fair point. Quite possibly it's just not been reported or noticed, but there is the argument that while it started as a begging thread it's become one where PHers help each other out. We'll have a chat and I'll let you know. smile
