I think you will have to bypass the whole imobiliser unit. Under the left side of the dash cowling. Do-able, but you need to be good with electrics.

Make sure you tell your insurance company.

If it's a Meta alarm you don't need to use the little fob in the socket, I just press the button in the middle of the key and it does the same job.

Same for me - I can tell if it needs doing or not (has it taken me more than 30s to take the roof off) because mine doesn't prime the fuel pump unless the immobiliser is disabled.

I only resort to the fob insert if the key button doesn’t work, as has been said you can tell before trying to start as hearing the fuel pump running is the clue.

It’s a good point about updating the insurance company if you choose to bypass the immobiliser though: if your car is stolen recovered there is the likelihood of an insurance assessor getting involved and you could be in trouble if you have modified just about anything on your car without letting them know. DAMHIK.

The fob in the slot on the META is only for emergency use if it fails to start on the key. Its not for regular starter use.
Carl Baker will tell you so.

Chimpaholic is the forum expert on this - and most of what follows originates from him, but basically the immobiliser contains relays which disable the starter, fuel pump and ignition circuits. You can bypass any or all of these, but the wiring isn't as you would expect. Not sure if this is c*ckup or conspiracy - you never can tell with TVR!

It sounds like a good mod to bypass the starter circuit as this can help overcome hot start issues. That would still leave the ignition and fuel immobilised as a measure of security. But I imagine that doing any of this would potentially invalidate your theft insurance.

I'm not going to say more on a public forum. As has been said before, Carl Baker is your man really.
