Achilles Heel - Aching / Sore!
Discussion
So it’s now week 4 of my heel being sore and I need to do something about it!..
About 4 weeks ago it started hurting after a stint on the running machine.. I iced it at the time but has been aching and sore on and off.
I've iced it every time it aches, used the likes of deep heat and tiger balm to relieve some aching!
I've gone and bought the Heel inserts with arches etc but still find it aches.
Any ideas best route to take from here? Awaiting a doctor’s appointment as they're "Busy" at the moment.
Thanks in advance!

True dat, it's a real pain.
After suffering so much in 2011 I went to a physio and he sotted ut a routine for me which got me back to normal, this year I have gone and irked my left one again, but this time I know to taker a time out.
The below vids are good...but do see a physio.

Agree with the above, unless you're willing to stop running on it until you see the NHS physio. So speaks a man who ignored his achilles issues in 2008 and isn't quite free of them yet...
Best of luck with it.
Yip same here!Best of luck with it.

Went to the osteopath yesterday and found the following:
Apparently the pain is being transferred to my Achilles from my musculotendinous junction. The pain is actually in here (Discovered after some serious pushing on his behalf) and is why it hurts my Achilles area.
He pummelled away at my calf which I must say was agony. Then he brought out the ultra sound and gave it a treatment of that. Then had it all bandaged up under compression and told to rest, keeping the bandage on for a week.
Got an appointment next week for some more treatment.

Had another session of treatment yesterday!
He checked it by using his hands to feel any difference since last time! Was alot more bearable and said he could feel that it wasn’t as tight etc. Looks to be on the mend!
He did however pummel it for 20 minutes and use the ultrasound again. After bandage it back up and said to come back in roughly a month to begin the rehabilitation on it. Bandage only needs to stay on for a few days just to restrict movement whilst it heals from the ultra sound etc.
Overall really impressed and it feels alot better! Slight ache in the mornings when it’s cold but a microwavable heat pad sorts that!
