Really as the title says.

My sister has a Z3 and the roof is in a terrible state and now the rear window has split. She has decided to treat it to a new hood.

Obviously not worth going to BMW on a car of that age / value.

I have trusted garages now for most of my repair needs but they all shy away from fitting / supplying hoods and don't seem to be able to recommend anyone.

The couple I've found and phoned from the yellow pages don't seem like the sort of people I'd like to deal with.

So has anyone received excellent service? In addition any tips would be appreciated on whether to replace the seals or just the hood etc, etc.

Area is Oxfordshire / Buckinghamshire but could travel to someone who really knows their stuff.

Thanks

Im sure in the back of magazines like Octane, and other classic car mags, there are adverts for companies who specialise in his sort of work.
Sorry can't give any personal recommendations though.

Have you used him at all?

Looks like a reasonable price to what I've seen...

I'm going to need a new roof on my golf this year, there are a couple of options I found...

http://www.carhood.com/

and this chap on ebay...

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/soft-tops/?_trksid=p4340...

I've not contacted either of them yet, nor seen any of their work... but let us know how you get on...

Lots of people in the TVR world have recommended him for new hoods, carpets etc. I'll be using him shortly as I want my T350 fully re-carpeted and I've not heard a bad word said about him. He also does a lot of trim work for places such as Hilton & Moss (they do a lot os expensive classic car restoration).

get good feedback from some on MG forums. They also do mobile fitting if you don't fancy a trip to Kent
