No interest to anyone this thread - with perhaps the exception of a recommendation at the end, but currently sat downstairs is one box with a Roksan Kandy K2 in, and 2 boxes one each with a Tannoy Revolution DC6T and a box with an iPod dock in. bounce

Really looking forward to getting it all set up.

Recommendation?

Well, spent lots of time at Richer Sounds getting advice from the chaps there (some great advice, some just trying to upsell me), and identifying the kit we wanted. Then it got down to price - now these days everyone haggles (don't they?) so we got in to a bit of negotiation and they came down a little but not quite my target price, so I phone around for like-for-like pricing and Sevenoaks Audio immediately undercut them and come within £20 of what I want. If RS had matched I'd have given them the business as we'd delt with them, but they wouldn't - they offered me half price cable - I got cable - so Sevenoaks got the deal.
I'd even explained to RS the more they helped me save on Stereo, the more that left me to spend on AV but no joy - so actually a recommendation for both, but seems only one wants to go out of their way to make sales.

Worse "I bought a Roksan Kandy and speakers" thread ever.

Oh, right biggrin

Nice one, let us know how it sounds, I've heard a lot of good things about that amp.

hehe There was a bit of that, but thought my purchase recommendations were valid.

Initial thoughts are it sounds very, very good. Although I'm having some issues with controlling the amp via the remote, so going to either have to Google, Call the shop or read the manual - again. Actually the manual is a bit pants!

The Kandy components need some time to bed-in so their character won't fully develop until you've had a few weeks of listening time. Same for the Tannoys, really.

Get it set-up pronto and run some discs on repeat for a few days.

Done exactly that, and after even a few hours it's beginning to sound good. I've just got it on all the time I'm home to run them in quicker.

Currently just running the iPod through an Onkyo dock. Plan is to perhaps bolt a CD player to it, or re-record in Lossless, currently record at 320kbps and it sounds good to my ears.
