Gearbox

Hi all

Seems like my crank shaft fail had also put additional strain on my gearbox which failed within 200 miles of being mated to the replacement engine Such is life, thing is now with the weather being so good I want to get back on the road asap.

A few questions if I may :

1). Does anyone have a replacement gearbox for sale?
2). Do the Tuscan/T350etc gearboxes fit as there are a few breakers in the classifieds at the moment.
3). Should I just get it refurbed and be done with it?

I have a spare T5 gearbox that I replaced for my cerb - it was changed because whilst all the gears engaged well, it became noisy - I don't know what is needed to repair it - ould be new bearings throughout or maybe worn internals.

Thanks for the offer but I am really looking for a box I can slot straight in to be honest.

Can anyone confirm that the Tuscan/Tamora/T350 are the same as the Cerbera ones please?

I have a T5 out of 4.2 which is now spare after an engine conversion. In good working order when removed but had high mileage.

Cerb boxes have a different tail housing and it's not a 5 minute swap.

I'd get a Cerb box if you can and you'll get little change from £500 I'm afraid.

May be worth looking at a rebuild? considering the cost of an unknown second hand one.

If you're looking for longevity, I can highly recommend the big gear Quaife option. Tough as nails and fits into the original housing.
