2001 PORSCHE 996 CARRERA soft top rear window replacement

Hi there
Can anyone help here as i need to replace the rear window due to tear and misting and have been told that you have to replace the whole hood however the rest of the hood is fine and seems a big expence when all we need is a new plastic sheet.
or is there a glass replacement option out there to prevent this happening again.
any help appreciated

I'd spend the money on a glass replacement. Again, you have to replace the whole hood but you then get what amounts to the facelift hood with the glass rear window. It isn't quite the same as the frame is different so you end up with a smaller rear window but it's worth a look. There are a couple on the market. An example below (no affiliation):

Just so you know, it isn't possible to fit a glass window to your existing hood.
