Considering buying a GT3 instead for a C2. One of my main concern is storage space as i will use it for weekend trips, golf weekends etc.
Ideally i will find a comfort model without cage and there will be no problem. However they are not to easy to come by and have now seen anad for a GT3 with racing seats but no cage. Is it possible to move the racing seats that far forward that you can squeeze in a golf bag imto the rear compartment?

I have no experience of the above exercise in mine.. I would say you may have to try that one.. I must say I do see plenty of comfort spec cars available when I have a peep at the classifieds.

When I looked there were plenty of GT3s with bucket seats and no cage. Cage cars seemed to carry a premium.

As for getting a golf bag in, I have not tried it, but I suspect you will struggle. If you could lift it over the seats you probably could, but the gap between the seats and the roof is narrow. You would have to try - I used to get skis in mine between the seats!

Never tried it, but I would say no. I am sure a golfer with a cage will be along soon.

You won't get golf clubs in the back. You have two options, strap them on the passenger seat or buy folding seats - either the comfort seats or folding gt2 buckets.

I can get a couple of big soft bags behind the seats in my GT3 but you have to be a bit careful not to scratch the seatbacks with buckles or studs. Also, where I have the seats, you can also get a rucksack behind the drivers and passenger seats and then you have an even bigger load area for light stuff. None of this does anything for the handling mind, but you can get a hell of a lot in. But a golf bag, with clubs; well, I can't see it going in as I think it will be too long. I'm in Bromley if you want to try it and see.

My son has quite a large car seat that is tricky to get into the rear of my Comfort, but I can just about manage by putting one seat fully forwards and one seat fully back and 'posting' the seat through the gap above the two buckets. I have never tried getting a golf bag back there, but I would think it is possible, but my wife has one and I can give it a go for you if you need?

I have a 996 C2 and get my golf clubs (incl driver) into the back just fine. rear seats folded down and move passenger seat forward and tilt and it goes in diagonally well. My powercaddy trolley folds up and fits in the boot.

however, with 6GT3, you'll... a) need to get one with folding (i.e. standard) seats and b) probably need to put something under the club bag to hold the bag up as you don't have the rear seat backs to sit it on.

Secondly, be aware that the boot of the 6GT3 is _very_ small - as that model uses the front structure from the C4, despite it being 2wd. So you won't get a trolly in the boot. However, the 7GT3's boot is bigger and when I tested one, I could fit my trolly in that.

HTH.

All sounds sensible, i'll have to be patient and wait for any comfort with out cage coming up for sale (can only find 2 out of the 28 GT3 in classified with this combo)

I just sold my 996 GT3 Comfort with standard sports seats and (with care) I managed to get my mountain bike in the back of mine. I'd imagine a set of clubs would fit, but tbh I wouldn't have a clue as I'm not a golfer!

I have a comfort spec 996 GT3 and have carried golf clubs. If you try and get a bag with the clubs inside the car it is likely you will scratch or mark the car and the clubs. A better solution is to use a soft bag and fit the clubs individually in the rear with the aid of a few towels for protection. If you are into battery operated trolleys - carrying the bag will be good exercise!

Alternatively, buy a Volvo.

The buckets go forward a fair way, and given that I managed to get in the back to clean the window when I had a 996GT3 I am pretty confident that a small carry bag for your clubs would be viable. Forget about a tour bag though.
