Since i've discovered the gen 2 RWD model was introduced earleir than the C4, i'm considering a non-S gen 2 over a Gen 1 S/4S

Since it would be a daily doing 15k/annum, the fuel/tax situation is advantageous and the newer DFI engine for reliability.

Did the non-S 997.2 have the sports exhaust as an option? as warranty-proof noise is an essential requirment.
Also is there a power-kit? (less important, just curious)
Are there any other options i should be looking for?

Hi,

PSE was an option. I believe the X51 power-kit option was for 3.8L engines only.

I am not the right person to respond on must-have options, as I like my cars with all the boxes ticked.

On the C2 though I would still look for a PASM equipped car.

random ramble.

Just remembering the 09 plate 5000mile Speed Yellow C2 which was up for sale at OPC Leeds for £53k...back in September 2010. It had all the boxes ticked and then some. Someone took a £30k bath on that one, I wish I had bought it now.

I had one.

Options:
- extended leather is nice
- BOSE is nice
- PDK is nice
- Phone / iPhone connectivity is cool
- PASM and Sport Chrono is nice (launch control)

I don't think you need PSE but everything's individual. IME the Gen 2 C2 is as fast (faster?) than a Gen 1 C2S....it's only a couple hp down and much, much faster gearbox with PDK.

Are you looking for auto or manual shift? If auto, it's a no brainer, get the 997.2 with PDK.

I think i'd have a manual rather than tip for gen 1, but pdk if i go gen 2.

I guess i need to educate myself about the other differences, eg are the seats different (bmw non-m seats are not very supportive)

It can be retro-fitted yes, but it's expensive. There are alternatives to PSE however mind you, that might be considerably cheaper. Gundo-hack for example

Best thing to do is go and have a look at a few. Standard seats are lovely and supportive but sit in a couple and get a feel for them.

Can you explain?

Noise is a big factor for me (warranty and insurance-proof preferably - hence an oem factory noise is perfect)

Well afaik PSE alone is 2kish for the part hereand i'd say maybe 600quidish for fitting at OPC (maybe someone can correct me).

Gundo hack - have a google is something to do with the silencers afaik that's no-way near expensive. as for warranty, well meh i guess it'll void it
