Tamora engine removal

Im gearing up to take the engine out for its rebuild. Any advice/tips? I have the orange bible but it is fairly scant on details. I also have the added nuisance of having to do it on the patio as I have no room elswhere. I have plenty of time to take over it though as I have no cash for rebuild at present so just want to get it out and spend some time on other bits n bobs

ItHave read a few things and it seems the recommended procedure is to drop engine with gbox out the bottom and then lift the car. Not easy in my situation so I was thinking about removing the box first and then lifting engine out the top. Is this even possible? Any advice gratefully recieved.
