Another 'what did I see' thread

I passed a car earlier that has got me completely stumped.
I only got a quick look, but it was a large coupe that looked broadly like the Cadillac CTS Coupe:

except with a lower bonnet and window line. It was on a UK 'R' plate.
The front of it reminded me of a Volvo 960:

There was an abundance of chrome trim around the side windows although I'm not sure whether that was standard or not...
I realise that's not much to go on but if the PH experts could give me any clues I'd appreciate it.
