What car 1k crica 200bhp

What car thread, sorry but around 1k, and 200 bhp. Looking for 25 - 30 mpg. Insurance max 17-18

Looking for something to bring smile..

No mx-5's or big barges

So far looked at

Audi 1.8 t
BMW 325
MGF

Anybody suggest something else?

Not quite 200bhp but Civic Vti-S or 306 Gti6?

Or take a chance with a cheap Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo or possibly even a leggy Impreza.

I have been looking for a prelude vti 2.2 manual but very rare at this price.

GTi is 172 want more than that

What about a Mk2 MR2? They were 180'something standard weren't they? With a bit of fiddling that might already have been done, could tip over the 200 mark

A £1k Volvo will be hpi clear, most are well looked after and in good condition due to the sort of people that own them.

BTW Volvo T5s ARE TURBO Charged!!!! 225bhp Stock....easy over 260+ with a £300 remap

Yes been to see a few but the engine warning lights have been on and cars looked like they are owned by ex drug dealers. But I will keep looking. I like the GT style with the power. I think it will be the car for me.

Blimey!!! I am surprised to hear that....maybe try the Owners forums!

Edit to add:
£1000 Audi 1.8 t & BMW 325 are much more likely to have been owned by undesirables!

Good luck, the Used car market is a bloody nightmare at times!!!
