Sorry - been down at Farnboro for a couple of days so had no internet access.

Took the car to SFR on Tuesday morning - he thinks its the exhaust manifold gasket(s) that have split causing the exhaust to blow. The ticking was the first stages of it blowing. Having driven it home and then to Stockport and back it is definitely blowing properly now.

Its booked in for next Monday morning, so hopefully will come back in full working order in time for the Blackpool TVRCC meet on Wednesday and the Griff Growl the following weekend.

Oh well it never rains .....

I wanted to move the Griff today so that I could get the Lotus out of the garage, but the battery has gone completely flat since Tuesday. Is this normal?

I had to take the roof off and open the doors from the inside and then try and jump start it, but it was almost getting enough charge in it to start when on the next turn of the key nothing happened at all.

So its all booked in the garage on Monday fo rthe exhaust problem to be fixed and now I can't get it there !!

Have I killed the battery? Can I kill the car as easily? Anybody know the easiest way of torching the bloody thing?

Might simply be that the battery has had it, which obviously can happen on any car, they usually have a 3/5 year life.........

Put it on a slow trickle charge overnight and see what happens........

I'll try and charge it but its had a new one in the last 9 months.

Are they hard to bump start?
