Legal requirements for switches?

Im just starting to put my dash back together, and I dont want too many switches cluttering it up...
Does anyone have a link to a list of some sort of the minimum requirements for what I must have? Ie, do I need both sidelights and dipped beam or can I just have dipped beam etc...
I only have indicators on my stalk, and its an 82 Jago if it makes any difference!
