Driving Experience Day with no license check?

Has anyone been on a driving experience day recently where you didn't have to produce your driving license at sign on?

I have promised my brother in law a track day but he has lost his license in 2 house moves. Persuading him to pay for a replacement for something that is merely mislaid is proving difficult.

How about persuading him to get a new one because he's moved house and needs to update his address details on his licence anyway?

Just tell him the £20 for a new licence is better than a £1000 fine for incorrect details. (Even though the chances of getting a fine are probably less than winning the lottery)

I'm 19, so fully expected to be asked, no checks or anything was quite suprised. This was for a Nissan GTR Thrill expierence and the documents said i would need both parts of the licence..

Was a rather good expierence though if not alittle short at 3 laps.

You can safely assume that I have been making the obvious suggestions for some time.

Organisations like driving experience places (and hire car companies, etc) can call up DVLA for a small fee, pass the phone to you to confirm your details and that you're happy to release them, then they give the details to the company.

I've done it before when hiring cars (I'd forgotten the paper bit), and when I did Palmersport I was in the midst of a house move and didn't think I'd find it so called to check what would happen if I couldn't produce it - they do what I describe above.

Bedford did this for me when I forgot my license on a trackday. At no cost I have to add

Remind him that the address DVLA have will be incorrect. Don't be at all surprised if it turns out to be bullst and he has actually lost it rather than mislaid it. I've seen that happen more times than you would imagine.

When I forgot my liecence for a track day the organisers did phone DVLA to check it but charged £20 for it. Tell him he needs to spend the £20 on a replacement or the deals off. If he won't then suspect there's more to the "lost" liecence than he's letting on.
