So I've read all the internet stuff I can read and thought I'd have a go at disconnecting the solenoid to give me permanent loudness.

However, I'm standing here having taken off the engine cover etc and it's not 'obvious' to me what i should be disconnecting.

Various forums talk about brown clips, white clips etc All I can see is some very dusty black clips.

I can't find any clear photos either.... arrrghhhh!!

Can someone aid me as it's a lovely day and I just want to get out for drive. Mucho thanks!

You should be able to follow back to the correct plug via a couple of narrow gauge, clear vacuum tubes.

Thanks. Took a guess and proved to be ok...

Btw Ive read that the valves can stop working if left like this. Is this true? And if so how long is too long?

This makes the resistor snip a better option. Flick the switch now and then to exercise the valves.

Mines been unplugged since last September - I reconnected it last week to give the valves a work out and all was ok.

My Boxster Spyder is Spanish, and there's no quiet mode on the PSE. If I switch it on, it's on all the time, no matter what speed. That makes me think it's a thing that can be programmed by the dealer?

I can dig one out later....

But its easy. Its the clip that sits central in the bay, towards the rear on its own mount.

The plug looks like this but may be brown.

(this is off a 997 I think, but same thing applies to the Boxster)

In my case the plug wasn't brown, which threw me off the scent. The description of position I've given should see you good. The thin metal mounting is a hoop design and impossible to confuse with anything else.
