Monday Morning commute - made me feel better about the week!
Discussion
Monday morning - needed to drive about 50 miles down from Sheffield to Tutbury:
Choice:
- take boring daily driver, possibly M1 shlep then down A38 (yawn)
- take Cerbera across some brilliant Peak District / Derbyshire A and B roads
Hmmmm: with the weather this week - no brainer.
Set off early Monday morning (not my usual best time...), weather crisp and cold; roads dry; beautiful blue sky (doesn't always rain oop North); slight frost to be seen on some of the fields, sheep and lambs in the fields, all in - a beautiful day.
Thankfully very quiet roads, Cerbera and driver now fully warmed up (obviously with windows down..... obligatory Cerb driving style), exhaust note bouncing off dry stone walls, car tracking beautifully despite bumpy roads; effortlessly dispatching lesser vehicles whilst waking them from their morning commute slumbers...... Weather crisp - green snowflake on for start of journey and down to red in some of the dips.... but cold dense air better for the engine anyway!!
Felt so brilliant to finally be able to give the car some beans after a long winter (I tend to avoid salt and sludge in the TVR), first proper run when not had the family on board...... able to utilise the full performance potential of the vehicle where conditions allowed (ahem).
Even better - most drivers didn't read the A515 closed sign properly and took the diversion, despite the sign telling them this was only between 7pm and 6am....... even quieter road than usual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO GOOD TO BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!
Roll on 2012 - New Years Resolution - use the TVR more!!!!!!!!
