Anzani engines

Anyone had experience of these engines particularly the 1500cc 4 cylinder engine of the early 1920's.I would welcome comments.

I passenger in a trails car (a GN special) with a 3.4 litre Anzani V-twin engine. Bags of torque, a lovely thump thump and perfect for trials. I'm sure that information's of absolutely no value to you though...sorry!

They were fitted to 20's Frazer Nash and AC amongst other. Have just rebuilt one for a client. I know a lot about these engines - what would you like to know?

I know nothing of these engines but assume that they were built and sold to the car manufacturing industry during the 1920's. I noticed a 1924 AC is for sale fitted with the aforementioned engine, is the small 1500cc four pot engine robust, reliable, spare parts available, any known weak points. Thanks for any advise comment.

Just back from the Light Car Welsh, - there was one on the event, again.
The owner of that one is active on the VSCC forum.
His comment on the VSCC forum said check the rear axle for nasty noises.

Dad has always fancied the 2-litre (Royale) version, friends mention the "transaxle" and say no.

My brother did have an issue with his Anzani engine (in a Nash), but since then the Frazer Nash Club have commissioned new blocks. I'm sure Patrick (PBE) can tell you much more about the Anzani engine. http://www.blakeneymotorsport.com/shop.html

Thank you Davepen, handy info and links. I'm just doing a bit of homework before considering further about the AC.
