I'll be dusting off the M3 on the weekend ready for it to go back on the road next week. Swapping insurances and getting some tax sorted.
I can't wait. driving

Anyone else's toys coming out to play next month?

No frown . I've managed to break them both and work commitments have so far
prevented me from fixing them.

One of them will return to the road before june though, (hopefully).

Got my Mini back on the road about 2 weeks ago, mainly because it's still MOT'd and insured for another couple of weeks, lets me use it for a bit before putting it in for it's MOT, gives me a chance to see if anything's needed whilst it sat for 6 months.

Been out for a month. Waiting until April you may have missed the best of the summer.

I'll be lucky if my summer car is ready for the summer lol. It's hard to get the motivation to work at it when I have another car sitting road legal and ready to go.

Slightly cheating as I only bought my 'summer car' this year, but I bought it at the beginning of March and can't believe how much sunshine roof off motoring I've enjoyed...maybe I'll SORN it until next March. smile

The GTE has been used more and more this year. I taxed and MOTed it in September and I've hardly used it, so I'm really trying this year. I had a hole in the sill sorted, did some rust-proofing:

...replaced the roof lining:

Fited a new remote locking kit with a new key:

And fitted a cheap eBay special stereo that has USB, SD card, bluetooth and aux in so I can have my sounds.

Replaced the PAS pipes:

Used it for some running about and one commute so far:

I have come to the conclusion I really don't need a faster car. I just cannot be trusted. frown

I don' get this "summer car" concept, can someone help me?
There are some fantastic driving days right the way through winter, and I just love an open topped spirited drive on a bright, crisp winter morning.

This isn't criticism, I just genuinely don't understand why you would deprive yourself from you P&J for a few months
Thanks smile

I sort of agree, but I bloody hate using the Lotus when it's icy out - it's just SO cold and the heater bearly works.

For me, road salt + mini = ticking time bomb, plus the heater is crap despite making huge improvements to it. It's too much like hard work to use the while year round, just nice to use it on the odd sunny day to de-stress

Much prefer heated seats, climate control and a bit of comfort for when it's chilly

Just spent the last few weekends replacing and refurbishing bits and pieces on mine, it's been off the road since October. Should have it back together this weekend ready for an MOT in April smile

I'm spending tomorrow getting the nicer of my 205s ready for the summer. Needs a clean and a new bulb and that should be it ready for another MOT.

Yeah a 21 year old Astra and road salt (or even rain!) don't mix. Plus I'd worry a little bit about leaving the GTE anywhere, like Sainsbury's with the brainless numpties, and overnight in areas I don't know very well. And it's only insured for 3k miles a year.
