Fitting lower ball joint

Just had a mechanic look at replacing the nearside lower ball joint on my 2.5 M12 and he seems to think that the whole lower wishbone needs to be removed, which will mean removing the floor.
Surely this can't be right?

Any advise would be much appreciated guys.

yes you'll need to remove the wishbone but its only 2 bolts. One you get to in the drivers footwell behind a piece of carpet. the floor doesnt need to come off
