All sincerity here, want to say big thank you to traffic cops in Reading for sending me on my way this evening with a simple caution and mind how you go son.

it was late about 11.45 and the road was clear and although posted as a 40 was not at a built up level being away from a housing development and near to industrial area quiet at that time of night, no real excuse for my speed but you understand where i was coming from.

any way I was doing a sufficient figure over the limit that when i passed their car stationary at the junction to the road i was on, they deemed it neccessary to "have a word"

bang to rights on my side, and potentially could have been in a serious fix.

would just like to say cheers for the pleasant manner, the general chit chat and the simple cautionary tale before breathalysing me (ahh another cherry popped) total cold sober not a drop all evening and sending me home.

drove home much slower, having had the collar felt, i think everyone gets to the fireproof stage and something such as a near miss or caution or normally now a photo in the post brings us back to real world speeds,

so thanks once again and please lets have some more traffic cops with a sensible approach rather than mindless cameras not taking the whole situation into acocunt.

cheers,

gone

I'm usually pretty quick to grumble if I'm not happy with something, but having said that it's only fair to give credit where it's due.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

A lesson the government would do well to learn, here.

He's been driving "unsafely" (if you believe the Scamera Partnership propoganda ), but rather than letting him continue to endanger 1000's of lives until the automated NIP arrives up to 2 weeks later, a quick tug & a talking to and he's off again more "safely" than before... Job done. Everybody happy.

Well done BiB in question & well done Mark for taking it on the chin.

Well said - I was pulled a few years back for driving like a tt. The cozzer was fair and gave me a dressing down instead of issuing me with a ticket. Of course, if that was today, I'd be staring down the end of a three-pointer and left even more cynical of the whole system.

More cozzers, less cameras, I say!
