Are there any websites or forums where pilots might advertise that they are willing to take people along with then and that it would be nice if they could pay the fuel bill?

Or is this still classed as a commercial operation and totally illegal?

You can pay a pro-rata share of the fuel costs, but not the whole lot. Technically, if you buy the pilot lunch afterwards it is payment in kind and illegal if they do not have a CPL.

^^^^^^What LD said up there.

I am almost qualified and currently flying out of Blackpool so at some point in the future I am sure we could organise a trip out.

Anywhere, just a trip in a plane. wink

But it would be incredibly decent if I got dropped off at Gigha, from the North West.

Cool

It would depend on how much fuel it would cost.

Versus the slight inconvenience of travelling down there.

Hmmmm scratchchin

Funnily enough I was about to ask the same question... I'd love to take my goddaughter on a flight around the Southwest sometime....

Presumably the fuel contribution and extra hours in the book would be a positive for the pilot?
