Looking to spend upto 12.5k on either a BMW 630i or an SLK 280.

Is it worth looking at an auction for these sort of cars? There doesn't seem to be many privately being sold and it appears it's only dealers wanting to sell them.

Where are the dealers getting these cars from? Are they all coming to from p/x?

Just looking to see if I can save a few pennies by looking at an auction.

SL350 is a much better match for a 630 than an SLK!

I wouldn't fancy dropping that much at an auction unless I really knew my stuff though.

Having been to auctions recently I've seen lots of cars almost getting retail value!!
I certainly wouldn't be buying from auctions, I've bought my last 7 cars off eBay (other than my Club Sport) and that's where the bargains are.

It's always worth looking at an auction, the trouble starts when you are buying at an auction.

The savings can be greater but so can the pifalls.

Know your target car,and don't get excited and carried away with bidding.
