SMGII Clutch advice
Discussion
Hi chaps
I've had my CS for a few months now and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm also loving the SMGII. It's a funny and brutal old system and takes a fair bit of time to learn how to drive it well but does feel great when pressing on a bit.
Anyway every so often I'm getting a little bit of clutch slip. It is very occasional and only during the change when on full throttle at high revs. When I first bought the car there was a little clutch judder when pulling away from a standstill. However after I bought new tyres all round as per the manual I did the reset procedure by pulling both paddles in etc and now pulling away is butter smooth in both 1st and 2nd gear.
Most of the time the gear change / clutch bite is very clean on the two modes I use (S3 and S5). Just occasionally when it does slip it's almost as if the clutch isn't engaging quick enough? There is no clutch smell and no slip once the gear is engaged.
The car has only done 35k miles so I don't think it should be the clutch wearing out? It is under the AUC warranty.
I usually drive in S3, S5 when pushing on if that makes any difference. I haven't and probably wont ever use the launch control.
Any advice / experiences would be very much appreciated
Cheers
James
