Something to do with average emissions over the range, which is of course nonsense.

It's for people who want to spend a shedload on a car designed for city travel, with the coachbuilt nice interior of an Aston Martin, and why not? It is, after all, their money. wink

You pays your money, you take your choice...

My choices:

6)the top one
5)nothing at all
4)a bus pass
3)any other car
2)the top one - on fire
1)the iQ

Glad they're making something not drab, but that red interior really is an abomination.

Have to say the standard iQ interior does look very sexy there! I expected something more.... Micra-ish.

Not many people would understand, but i swear on my sons life id prefer the IQ than a Cygnet. I just couldnt justify it. Surely if a Boxter is a 'poor mans' 911,then what is the Cygnet?

Or put another way, for people to whom the 30k or so price difference is a total & utter irrelevance.
Why would you buy Tesco Value if you've been put in a position (by luck or hard work) where you don't have to?

The leather strap and buckle on the glove box is worth £20k at least. I mean come on who wouldn't want a buckle up glovebox??

But if you had so much money it was irrelevent surely there's a long list of cars any sane person would throw that irrelevent money at before a Cygnet?

How many other handy little runabouts are there?

We're not dealing with financial constraint or need (in most senses) here, just about want.

The big problem with this kind if thing is that the vast majority look at it from the POV of a financially constrained petrol head and not from the correct vantage point.
Yes there are more exciting/worthy/good value options if you have @ 35 - 40k to burn, but do you think this is an either/or decision for 99% of the target market?

I dont think the Cygnet was made with the intention of them actually selling. Its made purely to satisfy EU regulations, if such regulations didn't exist Aston wouldn't bother with the Cygnet.
