I haven't got round to doing my gearbox bobbin mounts yet and i have noticed that the gearlever shakes about quite a bit whilst driving. Will new mounts help to reduce this or could the engine mounts be worn too? I have polybushed the remote linkage already which gave a big improvement in gear change and reduced resonating through the lever.

If your gearbox mountings have gone soggy due to oil contamination, then you should be able to notice a difference.

The rubber mounts underneath the 'box tend to turn mushy after years of being drowned in PAS fluid leaking from the 'box. Luckily I had the engine out when I found mine were shot, it made changing them a whole lot easier! Mind that was 11 years ago, they could be wrecked again by now...
