Simon - I dont suppose in your pile of mags you have any articles on the 7.3 Lister Jag? I have been trying to get info on the car for ages but its a thankless task. There just isnt any to be had - the mag archives people have manual systems for that era so I just gave up.

The XJS, Broccers? I have some stuff in Fast Lane about it. If you're talking about the XJ12 conversion, then the only thing I have is the article from Evo about a year/18 months ago about bargain secondhand buys.

Performance Car Road Test. 8 ordinary guys try out possible company cars. One is Anthony ffrench Constant, age 34, occupation architect.
quote:

Anthony ffrench Constant, who climbed out of the wood 'n' leather Jaguar and said simply, "Well that's just a waste of a walnut tree"...

Is that the same Anthony ffrench-Constant who is now a journalist? Was this his big break?

Its the full blown Lister XJS - they did 3 versions the more common are 6 litres, and so is the info. Its the performance data of the 7.3 supercharged version that I'm interested in - the engine is now used in the Storm.

It's the same ffrench-Twat, but I don't think that was his big break. I think he's always been a journo, except for when he was an architect of course. First time I saw substantial amounts of his writing was in Top Gear mag.

I'll have to have a look Broccers. I'm not sure I have any performance figures but may well have an article where they drove it.

Broccers, the Fast Lane article is now up. Go to the Fast Lane April 1991 folder. And it does in fact have performance figures.

That'll be the 7.3 described as 'One of a kind', then? Sorry I've only managed, within 90 mins of your request, to find a full road test of the nearest thing to it, scanned and posted on the net

[Teasing, btw]. I imagine Lister just re-bored the 7.0 version for one customer. Thought the 7.3 didn't ring a bell.

Is there any more Corrado stuff, Simon? I think Performance car did a road test in the October 1992 edition which I'd be very interested in reading.

Thanks!
Jon

I'll happily post a load more Corrado stuff. It takes a bit longer to scan Performance Car from '92 onwards though, because of the larger page format. And I'm off on hols for a week from tomorrow, so you're going to have to wait for a while I'm afraid.

I used to see/pass a Lister XJS almost every day on the A40 into London and see it parked up by the Angel.
Awesome looking beast, don't suppose its anyone on this site?

Also, a chap I work with went to view one the other day near Colchester going cheap, but it was a bit of a heap I think.
