On Track Insurance

Apologies if the question has been asked a thousand times before.

My son is racing in the MGOC Championship this season having had six years out of racing whilst at University.

I have requested quotations from several insurers for on-track insurance and I am still awaiting replies from most of them but the two quotes I have had are so far apart it has me wondering what is a typical premium for club racing over a season of eight meetings and sixteen races. I know that there are a thousand and one factors that could affect the premium but I'm just trying to get a feeling for what is reasonable.

Any pointers as to a "typical" premium would be appreciated.

£500-£3,000 per weekend, level of cover and championship dependant

Have been getting quotes recently for my championship and one was about £4k for 8 rounds with £2k excess - but no mechanical cover. Try Ryan, MMC and Bluefin.
