NIP question

Morning

Got a NIP this morning (82 in a 70) from one of Mr Brunstrom's colleagues.

However, I don't have to return my driing license, only my driver's number. Is this the norm or is there a possibility they may not pursue it?

They won't drop it.

from my experience the NIP asks you to identify the driver (if it was you or a third party), you send this off and if you said xxx was driving they get a NIP askig for their driving licence number. A Conditional Offer is sent out which allows you to miss a court appearance by paying £60 fine and having 3 penalty points endorsed on your licence. It's the conditional offer you send your paper copy away with.

Basically repeating what Doceviln has said.

When the Conditional Offer has been sent to the identified driver then at the the same time the Justice Clerks of the area are informed that one has been issued.

Within the 28 days when payment is made to the Fixed Penalty Clerk then if endorsement is required, at the same time Driving Licence and Counterpart should be handed over to the Clerk. Providing the holder is not liable to be disqualified, payment will be accepted and points allocated to Counterpart. Justice Clerks are also informed Conditional offer conformed to so NFA.
