UK to drive on the right by 2020
Discussion
The Department of Transport is set to announce a phased transition of UK roads to conform to the European standard of driving on the right by 2020, Government sources have confirmed. A Departmental Spokesman commented today:-
" Lengthy negotiations with the European Commission in Brussels as to the implementation of the Single European Transport Directive have failed to break the deadlock, and the UK Government is reluctantly forced to conclude that it must now implement the Directive and adopt right hand traffic rules. Legal advisers have ruled out a Court challenge as unviable, and so a phased implementation will commence, with a view to full compliance with the Directive by 2020. in the initial phase, private vehicles will continue to drive on the left, whilst lorries, coaches and other commercial vehicles will drive on the right. Members of the public are invited to look out for further announcements as the policy is developed. They are also invited to look out."

Trillions pissed up the wall for no improvement whatsoever
You think this would put the government off an idea?
