P38 4.6 HSE Idle Problems

Very poor idling and stalling on Petrol, especially when hot, but runs fine on LPG.
Which isn't a problem on a long journey, but every time I stop somewhere I have to keep my foot on the throttle until the LPG kicks in, before I can pull away (Auto).
Ideas anyone, I've checked all the hoses for leaks and the plugs and leads are new.
