Easter Sunday and Monday at Lydden Hill.
Do yourselves a favour and go. Witness gladiatorial style racing leading to one man overcoming all the other competitors in one weekend. Its like a whole F1 season (less the tedious bits)crammed into two days and is not to be missed.
And if it hasn't rained, stand upwind of the cars on the gravel sections.........................

teWent today, bloody cold with drizzle blowing around most of the day..
Some good timed runs put in , always good to have a nose round the paddock even when a certain Mr Doran Jnr almost runs you over...
then the timing gear broke on the start and after an hour and forty minutes of waiting for something to happen gave up and went home!

What a complete farce, after loads of hanging around for breakdowns we finally get to the first runs and nothing happens, in fact we hang around for 1 hour 15 mins to finally be told its not going to happen today!
The commentator who was as good as useless when it came to keeping the crowd informed only told us "it will start in minutes" when of course nothing started other that a siren of car horns from paying punters showing their total disgust.
As an FIA sanctioned event the timing company should have their supply agreement terminated, they have had all week to get the system up and running and then they screw up the opening of the meeting.
An official of the meeting told my family to contact Lydden on Tuesday and ask for a refund. This I and no doubt many others will be doing.
Needless to say I have cancelled my plans to attend tomorrow.

7/11 keep me informed on the refund situation if you'd be so kind... Couldn't agree more about being farcical we left around 17:30 as it was biting cold and to be honest we got bored. The commentator to be fair during the rest of the day I thought was quite good and had some good knowledge
The worst bit was the bint on the tannoy bellowing a drivers to line up in the paddock and clearly not having been told about the timing gear not working!!
Tanner Fousts assault on the infield was brilliant!

No worries that's the point of taking them!
If you haven't witnessed rallycross upclose then I suggest you do... The sheer fact it's an open paddock makes it much more of an experience as you can get right down in the mix of it all
Shame I've got work tomorrow as i'd of loved to have gone... It'll be on sky 413 tomorrow though

I don't know if they'll show highlights of today (there weren't many tbh). But Faust getting major lift off oversteer out the final chicane; hitting the inside kerb and getting a good bit of daylight under his wheels whilst still maintaining full throttle has to be one of the things that makes motorsport enthralling!
I said to the Doris today that I need to watch more Motorsport live as I've been slack of late!
