Michellin Pilot Sport 3 Inc vat was £123
Michellin Primacy HP Inc vat was £127
Conti not sure of the model Inc vat was £110
I asked the assistant what was the difference.
Conti carries much more road noise
Conti wears out much quicker
Conti inferior stopping distance etc.
So I said your not a conti fan then... Answer not at all why have rump steak when you can have fillet.
I'd only go Michelin personally and the PS3's they have done a cracking job for me really good tyres.
I did go up the car oil and car stuff asile I didn't notice car batteries though - not that I need one but don't like change.

What a bizarre thing for them to say. You realise that PS3 is a step down from PS2, which itself has been replaced by Pilot Super Sport? If the COnti they had was the CS5 it's a superior tyre to the PS3.Conti carries much more road noise

I've seen him there as a senior tyre fitter technician for years (certificates up on the wall). He kind of hinted that you should get 40k out of the PS3's based on customer feedback while the conti they have would last in his view low 20's. Though quite why you'd expect the assistant at Costco to have practical experience of both tyres I've no idea.
Agreed it was a very odd and seriously biased view basically Conti are a a midrange brand while Michellin are the premium and best

Actually for a 225/45/17 the replacement for PS2 is PS3... The smallest PSS fitment is for R18 wheels. Though quite why you'd expect the assistant at Costco to have practical experience of both tyres I've no idea.

All issued by Michelin. 
I'm surprised they had the same size Conti - I've had quite a lot of contact with Costco over tyres, including with their UK tyre manager. I know they've been carrying some Conti's for a while but I've been told only in sizes Michelin don't do. Even then, they don't carry, and won't order in, the 185/55R16 size my wife's car uses, even though Conti do it and Michelin don't.
Their pricing on Michelins isn't that good anymore unless you buy during one of the 20% offer periods. They used to be cheaper all the time.
