So, he returns to St James' park asking the Toon fans not to boo him. 10 minutes into the game he takes the ball into the Newcastle box and he dives and is given a yellow. He is eventually subbed to the boos of the Newcastle fans. Yep, he was a disgrace and deserved all he got. He certainly wont be welcome on the streets of Newcastle in the near future.

He's an idiot, but that's hardly news.

Prolly not, but had he not been a divvy, he was nailed on for a goal. Misfit.

I saw the dive and it was pretty ordinary. But so is everyone these days. Im a glass half full sort of person and think it is too easy to have a go at him due to his pricetag/pony tail.

I watched him play against Everton a couple of weeks ago (I think it were them) and nobody tried harder in regards to getting back and defending. Most forwards after they have finished blaming everyone else for a bad pass barely shuffle back onside.

In the last 10 mins of the game he had more completed passes than Charlie Adams had this year. I think give him a chance as attacking midfield.

Some people take this football lark far too seriously.

It's quite astonishing how upset people get about 22 prima donna's running around a pitch kicking a ball around. hehe

Come on fella's ffs , i'm no Andy Carrol fan but dedicating a whole thread about him falling over is very harsh indeed . i personally didn't think he dived , he just stumbled over ( maybe he couldn't bring himself to score against the club he loves ) He was not gesturing to the ref about a penalty & neither was the close by liverpool players

So what next , every time a player dives or falls over we have to have a dedicated thread ! i've seen messi dive & he gets a little genius thread , what was more disgraceful was the way James perch fell to the ground holding his face as if he had been sprayed with acid , Reina made little or any contact,Now that behaviour is truly disgraceful not only conning the ref but also tarnishing the career of a fellow professional , truly embarrassing imho

Think it's time to give Andy Carrol some slack

crap bitter thread, thought you geordies were better than this

Ah ye olde "someone has a different opinion and thus should leave and not voice said opinion". Well done you!

As it happens, I am a football fan and am interested in what goes on but I struggle to get myself worked up to hysterical levels over the actions of one player and find it quite amusing reading someone threatening that he won't be welcome to walk the streets of a City.

Not at all mon ami

please feel free to voice your opinion, as will I. PH usually is pretty anti football (its a game for chavs you knowhehe) which is why we have a football section. The standard '22 men chasing a bag of wind' is neither new or helpful to the debate.

As regards carroll, his move to liverpool was somewhat contraversial after he pronounced his undying love for the toon and promptly left 24 hours later. A blatent dive on his return to the club he apparently has so much respect for will not exactly enhance his standing in the town, thats for sure.

My team is Sheffield Wednesday, who i've followed man and boy for 40+ years (mores the pity! laugh) and our local rivalry is with our cross town bretheren sheffield united...affectionally known to us as the pigs. Their manager is an ex player and manager of ours, and whilst I wish him no ill whatsoever, I sure as hell dont like him these days...thats football, its tribal, its passionate and its all part and parcel of why i love it.
