Several people at work have told me that there is a company that markets a spray on substance which is "claimed" to, I think , increase the reflectivity of your number plate so that scamera flashes cause over exposure, thus preventing the details to be read. Has anyone got any info to throw any light on whether this spray actually works?
BiB I take it this would be illegal, but how would you know without having some kind of substance chemical "sniffer"?

The words "balls on a dog" spring to mind. I saw a car with a treated plate once and it's like an extra headlight. I would giove it a tug and I'm not even a BiB

Now my small plate on the bike... That's a totally different kettle of fish

Why not just spray the camera instead?

Yep - just as a speeding car goes past!

I can see the picture now - a smiling face with a spray can.

Oooooooops..

IIRC they can just look at the negs. Its nice and dark and they can see your number plate as if it were normal. Then I suppose they can do you for somthing else.

Well the one I saw was quite the opposite! Really stood out at night, drew your eyes to it. Asking for a pull I would say.

Legless reptile lubricant.

Flip tips are the best in this space, if you can get them anymore...

saw a car with a cd wedged behind plate, maybe this was a cheaper version, surely the glare from such a reflective object like this would work

It all very well having a nice sprayed reflective surface on the outside of your numberplate to distract Mr Gatso number plate reader man, this only leads you into another dilema.

Nice reflective materials increase the range Mr Talivan with his prolaser can get you.

Been doing a bit of testing recently & a nice dark car with pop up headlights (down) eg 200sx no number plate = lucky to get it at 100ft after constant targeting.

Large Sliver car eg MPV with new shiny refelective plate, chrome grill & shiny new headlights 1500ft+ instantly

You don't wan't anything reflective on your car I can assure you

At least from the rear there isn't a pic of the driver which helps your likely defence concerning driver identity.

Some likely lads round here sprayed all the GATSOs round here one night. It took the authorities at least a week to srt it out! A burning tyre round the camera seems to be quite popular these days too.
