Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so how bad have they been?

My old man put in an "intention to purchase" £1000 deposit with Stratstone Aylesbury for a 5dr Si4 Dynamic last year and they messed him about for months before confirming his order in early August 2011.

Delivery was promised pre Christmas, then it was January, then March. Now I understand that it's (finally) going to be built next week (5th April), but he's been told not to expect delivery until early May!

This sounds like madness to me , even if demand has been extremely high, but a whole month to get it from Liverpool? PDI / Valeting / Registration and UK Logistics can't be that bad - surely?

I ordered mine on 28th June 2011, i got my car on 31st March 2012 (this saturday) so a full 9 months.

It went back, and back and then came forward last minute. They always give a couple weeks from build to delivery. In reality it appears to 3-4 days.

I can only assume that the supply delays in the UK are caused by diesel engines. We have received all of our Evoques on time, some early, but we do not sell diesel engined cars in the USA. We order to a 90-120 day lead and most cars have come in around 100 days. Having said that we are on strict allocation so we are limited in how many we can order. I guess it's possible that some dealers are taking deposits without allocation and then placing the order when they get an allocation...

Must be dealer allocations.

We ordered our Si Coupe in Sept 2011 it arrived late October.

We rejected the car in Jan because of paint issues and the replacement arrived two weeks ago!

They are taking the mick I think.

Cheers

Thanks for the responses - sounds like it's a combination of demand and the dealership being a little "speculative" with their allocation (even though it's a petrol).

Poor show really - but I will go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb to check for any issues with paint or fit / finish ....

Typical of any Pendragon company and no doubt made worse by the turnover of staff.

Yes guys, agree with what you say, but have you checked out re-sale value, because cars are basically made to the order of the purchaser dealers have no stock cars apart from their allocation of demonstrators, all this is keeping our hard earned investments at top value, I ordered mine in Sept and got it March, was a delay due to having a red oneand problem with suppy of the head lights ,Worth the wait , Out of interest i only put £500 down on order and paid the balance two days before collection, another local dealer wanted £2000 deposit!!!

So now I discover that it's been sat at the dealership for a week and is registered and ready to go! Numpties didn't ring because the salesman was away on a course (back to basics I hope). So this is now 3 weeks ahead of their (much revised) schedule ..... furious

In order of ocurrence I;ve been told of supply disruptiohn on;
  1. headlamps, factory burned down
  2. panoramic roof glass - which has caused other dealys - factory burned down
  3. the firm in France which bonds the plastic 'liner' to the inside of the tailgate burned down
Or so I am told.

We've got a boggo spec Ewok on order (since June 2011) and our local stealer says no real numbers 'cooking' cars have been made. All deliveries so far are the mega (read same price as an RRS) spec cars...

Rubbish.

Unless you've ordered a 150 Manual or a 2wd then Pure's started being delivered in October.

Tell me more.

Currently have 3 LR products in our fleet and have been a customer of the local stealer since 1996. Things can change though.

Because the td4 and ed4 engines did not go into production until into 2012. I waited from june 2011 to 1 st april 2012 for my td4 pure.

Being a long term customer, should not and will not get you up the list. First come first served i the rule (apparently lol)

So we're a bit further behind in the queue (ordered at similar time) but then our dealer has a habit of selling a lot of RRs, so may well have been more orders ahead of ours...

I feel a bit better about it now you've told me that.
