Help please on which model to buy

Hi, looking to get the Mrs an MX5. I assume the 2.0lt is the one to go for, and she would like the hard top.
Is 10k going to get me a good car and what do I need to look out for.

Depends on your definition of good.

£7K will get you a tidy early 2.0 Sport with sensible mileage and a removable hard top.

The 2.0 Sport has a 6-speed box, Bilstein dampers, LSD and leather trim. The 2.0 SE has a 5-speed, normal dampers and diff.

If you want the Coupe model with the electric retractable roof rather than the Roadster with the black cloth soft top then you are looking at a later model and I think that £10K would indeed be the minimum you could get away with paying for a decent one.
