2005 2.0 Diesel and the famous Limp mode!
Discussion
Hi Guys!
The Story goes... Had the Jaguar for 6 weeks without any issues and then I started getting the occasion limp mode that was a quick reset and everything was o.k (Thought this could be to do with having a chip box fitted... so removed). Limp mode starting happening more often so had the code read which came back with P132B, Garage said that this referred to the actuator ( I was a bit p***** as the previous owner had told me that this had be recon) . I found the old receipt and contacted the repairer who agreed to test for a small fee... After two days of testing no fault could be found with unit, so actuator was sent back and was very surprised when he told me that it was free of charge!
. Lee (actuator guy) talk me through spraying the turbo with WD40 as he believed the issues was with sticky vains.. now car worked fine for a week ( Before 4-5 times Limp mode on 2 mile journey) and then returned to back to how it was.... (4-5) . I decided to clean the MAF sensor and now the limp mode comes with 5-10seconds of starting the car
.
I've now replaced the following with new parts but still no difference
Brand new MAF Sensor
Brand new EGR Valve
Brand new CAM Sensor
Brand new oil/ air filter
So whats next to try ??? I'm thinking of a new turbo/actuator but my brother recons that it could be the wiring for the MAF as the plastic coating seems brittle.
Please guys give your opinions of what you think i should try ??
Cheers
Andy

With the actuator disconnected from it can you move the turbo vane lever by hand? Is it smooth & free? If not then the turbo itself is goosed. If its fine then reconnect the actuator & see if the actuator is strong enough to move the turbo lever when you rev the car. If this is moving ok then your fault is elsewhere. You might have now damaged the maf & its wiring by messing with them so you may have more than one fault.
Only ever had limp mode once with my car & it was caused by a cheap crappy fuel filter that britishparts.co.uk supplied me with.
