Has anyone used both of these tyres extensively? Any opinions?

Torn between the two, but leaning in the AD08 direction as they have a bit more tread depth and the wear rating is a little higher at 180 compared to the R1Rs 140.

Just to add to the choice, have you considered the Kumho KU36?

I have them fitted to my Evo and they are a very good tyre. Not just my opinion either - backed up by an ex works rally driver I know who drove the car last week.

Very good dry grip and decent wet grip too. They were a lot cheaper than the ADs and R1Rs too when I looked.

Thanks for the suggestion, but they don't seem to do a 205/50R16 which I need for the front wheels

I've used the R1Rs a lot and they have a good stiff sidewall ( I found T1Rs poor in comparison ) like the old AVS Sports - have been impressed with the dry grip as well considering they shift water much better than 888s if you get caught in the wet. Wear I can't comment on as most tyres don't last long anyway

Not tried the AD08s though so probably not 'that' helpful to you

Thread hijack, apologies.

Do you guys know if tyres of this ilk are available in 315 35 R 17 and 275 40 R 17 sizes?

I'm not being lazy, I have searched, googled, etc.
Either they're a size combo by any manufacturer rarer than rocking horse poo or I'm looking in completely the wrong places.

AD08's on my 996TT track wheels. Very happy with grip/feel/breakaway and wear seems good so far. Not had a wet td yet though and haven't tried R1R either.

I got speaking to the guys at performance french magazine stand at the pistonheads show and they said at the time they were getting together a track day tyre test with lap times etc for a future issue, worth keeping an eye out for. loved the 205 with the 600bhp evo engine and running gear on the stand.

Just fitted them, initial impressions are good, though with only 25 miles on them they're not even bed in yet.

I can feel that the sidewall is stiffer than the T1Rs and A022s I had on there before, but they've not made the ride that much harder.

Anyway, pic whoring time. I know the colour of the wheels will be marmite and I wasnt even 100% sure of it when I got the wheels back from refurb, but having fitted them I love them!
